The importance of aquaculture is growing and has an obvious social and economic impact. Fish farming has inherent problems, such as organic material accumulation, which allow fast fish-pathogens spread in the facilities. Many antibacterial strategies have been developed, but few of them are applicable to hatchery or fry growth. Most used strategy includes antibiotics, but: the use of antibiotics is strictly controlled; consumer demands products free of antibiotics; public health problem that can derive from antibiotic resistant bacteria occurrence.
